ISLAMABAD: A court on Saturday granted the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) transit remand of Omni Group’s chief financial officer Aslam Masood till February 16, ARY News reported.
According to the details, Senior Civil Judge Amir Aziz, on the request of FIA, granted transit remand of Aslam Masood,the chief suspect in ‘fake account case’ till February-16 for his production before a banking court in Karachi.
Aslam Masood was brought to the court on a stretcher due to his illness amid strict security.
The FIA will shift him to Karachi, so that he can be produced before the banking court, hearing the fake bank accounts case involving former president Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Chief suspect in ‘fake accounts’ case, Aslam Masood, was arrested on Friday by the FIA as soon as he had landed in Pakistan after being deported from Saudi Arabia.
Masood, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Omni Group, was arrested by the Interpol when he was boarding a flight from London to Jeddah in October. He was subsequently extradited to Pakistan from Saudi Arabia.

Earlier in the day, the ‘mastermind’ of fake bank accounts case, Aslam Masood, who was nabbed on Feb 8 by the FIA had complained of a cardiac pain on Saturday (today).
According to details, the investigation agency had moved Masood to the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology for his medical check-up.
