LAHORE: Fire broke out in a garment shop at lahore’s shopping plaza, Anarkali Plaza here in the wee hours of Monday which engulfed the adjacent shops within minutes, ARY News reported.
The firefighting has been continued for more than five hours as raging blaze could not be controlled by six fire tenders of the city’s fire brigade.
According to rescue agencies, an electric short circuit caused the fire erupted which spread quickly to several other shops located at basement of the shopping plaza
. However, no loss of life has been reported.
According to ARY News reporter, narrow alleys of the area hindering the firefighting operation resulting in the losses of property.
Earlier this month, in another fire incident, at least 21 shops were burnt in a blaze at city’s Anarkali Bazaar. The fire brigade then said that it took hours to control the fire as it was difficult to reach on the spot through narrow alleys of the congested area.
