Five injured in Chaman blast

CHAMAN: Five people have been injured in a blast at Abdul Rehman Zai bazaar in Chaman on Monday, ARY News reported.

Deputy Commissioner Qila Abdullah Shafqat Anwer said initial investigation revealed that it was a land mine blast. He said the blast took place near a grid station in tehsil Gulistan.

He said the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Frontier Corps and Levies personnel have cordoned off the area for collecting evidences.

In an attempt to sabotage celebrations of independence day, anti-state elements targeted a Frontier Corps vehicle in August by planting an explosive remote-controlled device in a motorbike on Mall Road in Chaman, Balochistan. The blast took place before an office of special branch police. This left one person dead and 15 others, including four FC personnel, injured.
