Seven miners killed, two missing in Balochistan coalmine collapse

QUETTA: A mine collapsed in a coalfield of Harnai district in Balochistan province, burying at least ten miners, ARY News reported.

Rescue officials said the ten miners were trapped when the mine collapsed on Friday, adding that the seven dead bodies were recovered while one was rescued alive.

They said two miners are still missing and efforts are underway to rescue them amid fears of whether they are still alive.

The identities of the miners are yet to be ascertained.

Earlier in March 2016, More than 30 miners were trapped in the far-flung mountainous Orakzai tribal district of Khyber Pakhtunhwa province after a shaft collapsed after heavy downpours.

Five dead bodies were recovered while 26 were rescued alive.
