KARACHI: Foreign airlines have decided to curtail their night operations at Karachi and other airports over unsatisfactory security arrangements, citing sources, ARY News reported on Wednesday.
The airlines have expressed their concern over the security of airports in Pakistan and informed the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) about their reservations, sources said.
Thai airlines Cathay Pacific has already decided to wind up its operations in Pakistan from June 28. The last flight of the airlines will take off for Bangkok from Karachi on June 28th, a spokesperson of the airlines has said.
According to sources, foreign airlines have decided to close their night time flight operations after firing at a PIA flight at Peshawar’s Bacha Khan Airport in the northwestern city of Pakistan.
Pakistan’s civil aviation will suffer huge financial losses if international aviators refuse night landing of their flights at the country’s airports.
Earlier, the foreign airlines after a terrorist attack on Karachi airport had curtailed their flight operations in night due to unsatisfactor security at airports.
