Four independent candidates from south Punjab join PTI

ISLAMABAD: Four newly-elected independent candidates from south Punjab on Saturday announced to join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), ARY News reported.

Syed Peer Rafaqat Ali Gilani, Hanif Khan Pitafi, Basharat Randhawa and Hussain Jhania Gurdezi made this announcement following a meeting with PTI chief Imran Khan at Bani Gala.

Talking to media, ex-president PTI Layyah Basharat Randhawa said the party had decided to field a candidate from Junoobi Punjab Sooba Muhaz and he was deprived of a party ticket so he decided to fight the election independently, however due to some reason his form was rejected, then he fielded his brother and won with big margin.

He said he stood by Imran’s vision. Neither he was sold nor he took any money in this regard, he said.

Randhawa said he was offered tickets and other things from other parties including the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and PML-Q, however he was with the PTI’s vision of ‘war on corruption, along Imran Khan’.

“Everybody in the country is considered to be ‘up for sale’, but we are not,” he said.
