Prisoners hanged in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail also included two brothers, Mohammad Asghar and Ghulam Mohammad, who had been awarded death penalty by district and sessions court for killing two of their relatives in Gujar Khan in 1996.
The third prisoner hanged, was Gulistan Zaman, who was also condemned to death by sessions court in a murder case for killing a man in 1998 in Kallar Syedan.
Another death row prisoner Abdul Sattar was executed in Mianwali Jail. Sattar was handed death penalty for killing a man over a personal feud in 1992.
Their appeals had been rejected by higher courts and their mercy petitions were also turned down by President of Pakistan.
Pakistan has hanged so far 54 convicts across the country. The government had lifted the moratorium on executions in the country after deadly attack on the Army Public School on December 16, 2014 in which around 141 people, most of them children, were killed.
