Four picnickers drown in Karachi’s Hawkes Bay

KARACHI: The bodies of four young men who drowned in the sea at Hawkes Bay last night were recovered on Sunday morning, ARY News reported.

According to Edhi Foundation, four youngsters – said to be friends – drowned last night while swimming in the sea. The search for the drowned people started early on Sunday morning who reportedly drowned in a bid to rescue one another.

Two of the deceased were identified as Danish and Raza while identification of other two could not be established. All picnickers were said to be residents of Karachi.

In 2014, at least 41 people died after drowning  at Seaview. Pakistan is ranked in the list of the countries having higher frequency of deaths due to drowning, and significant measures have been taken in recent years to prevent such unfortunate incidents.
