Four security men killed in attack on anti-polio drive

PESHAWAR: Terrorists targeting polio immunization campaign in Khyber tribal region killing four security personnel in two bomb attacks on polio vaccination teams, ARY News reported on Saturday. 

Unknown terrorists killed four personnel of Khasadar Force in two bomb attacks in Jamrud and Bara areas of Khyber Agency. 

Provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has launched fifth phase of the polio immunization campaign  under stringent security measures. In the drive children being administered drops of nine diseases including polio under the provincial government's campaign named as 'Sehat Ka Insaf'.

In the vaccination drive the vaccinators will administer drops to around eight lac children.  

The local authorities had heightened security with snap checking at the entry and exit points of the area and imposed ban on motorbike riding in Peshawar under article 144. 

The government has announced holiday for all public sector and private schools for the campaign.
