QUETTA: At least four women were killed as armed riders opened fire on their bus on Quetta’s Kirani Road, ARY News reported on Tuesday.
Sources says that the passenger bus had at least 40 people belonging to Hazara community were on board. The bus was on its way to Hazara town when armed bikers intercepted it at Kirani road and attacked the bus, killing four women and injuring a number of other people.
Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Zehri has taken notice and has ordered immediate inquiry into the attack.
Asif Zardari and Bilawal condemnation
Former President and co-chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari condemned the attack in strong words and said that termed it a barbaric act. He expressed sympathy with the bereaved families of the vicitms of the attack and called for immediate arrest of culprits.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in a press statement, has strongly condemned the attack, and said that terrorists are targeting the innocent citizens to provoke the sectarian violence in this month of Muhrram but the nation is united and will fight valiantly.
He said that the National Action Plan is not implemented as its actual and real spirit. “We need not only to stop the terrorism but to stop its breeding and facilitation,” he added.
RAW behind terrorism
Balochistan Home Minister Safaraz Bugti condemned the attack and said that Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) was behind terrorism in Balochistan.
He maintained that all the rebel and terrorist groups in province receive funding from the Indian agency.
