RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday visited the Military Police Training Centre in Dera Ismail Khan.
Gen Bajwa installed Lieutenant General Anwar Ali Hyder, Adjutant General of Pakistan Army as Colonel Commandant of Corps Military Police.
The army chief also visited Headquarters Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkwa (South) and Defence Services Guard (DSG) centre. COAS was briefed about operational preparedness of the FC, progress of ongoing operations, capacity building and training administration of DSG.

Earlier, Gen Bajwa attended the funeral prayers Major Ishaq who was martyred during an operation in Dera Ismail Khan. He paid rich tribute to the martyred officer and his family for their supreme sacrifice.
Major Ishaq was martyred during the search operation conducted on a tip-off about presence of terrorists in a hide out. The martyred officer hails from Khushab and left behind a widow and one-year-old son.
“The price we are paying in love for Our Motherland. Your sacrifices shall neither go in vain nor shall these be compromised,” said a statement by the Inter Services Public Relations on his martyrdom.
