ISLAMABAD: German Ambassador to Pakistan Martin Kobler on Thursday praised the efforts of South Asian giant Pakistan in promoting peace and stability in the region.
According to details, the German envoy gave these remarks in a meeting with Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi at the Foreign Office.
Further, Pakistan and Germany agreed to ratchet up the strength of their bilateral relations in economic and political spheres, Radio Pakistan reported.
During the meeting, FM Qureshi welcomed the decision of renowned German company ‘Volks Wagon’ to establish their Units in the car manufacturing sector in Pakistan.
The two dignitaries also discussed other matters of mutual interest and issues of regional and international importance.
A day earlier, FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Pakistan has always played a supportive role for bringing peace back in Afghanistan.
“Islamabad and Kabul have joint future and there will be no development if there is no peace in Afghanistan,” he stated while addressing a ceremony.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said over 50, 000 Afghan students have studied in Pakistani institutions and now they are serving in their own country and contributing in the capacity building of Afghanistan.
Mr Qureshi said both the countries [Pakistan and Afghanistan] are linked in historic, cultural, and religious bond ,”We expect cooperation and better understanding from Afghanistan to root out menace of terrorism,” he contented.
