WATCH: ‘Ghost’ captured on camera in haunted Irish school

A secondary school in Ireland may have captured proof of the paranormal on film after a series of unexplained disturbances caused a big stir.

Deerpark CBS located in Cork city in south Ireland has released CCTV footage filmed in the school’s corridors which they reckon could show a ghost.

The eerie footage was taken at 3am on October 1 showing spooky incidents including a door opening by itself and lockers rocking back and forth.

The footage begins with a huge bang and some strange flashes that seem to be coming from behind a closed door.

Moments later, lockers begin to shake uncontrollably. The whole time, there is no indication that anyone has walked in or out of the corridor.

Later, things get really weird when a locker door flies open by itself, spilling books and papers onto the floor. Then at the end of the footage, the wet floor sign that has been placed outside the toilets is knocked over.

Principal Kevin Barry said: “Obviously we were alerted to movement in the school and when we went back to review the movement that’s what we saw.

“It was in the middle of the night. We’re bemused ourselves, we don’t know (what it is).

“We do feel there is something strange going on because people do get from time to time a real chill in the air when they go past that area.

“It’s very interesting – one of my teachers brings his pet in with him but the pet never wants to go down that way.”

Mr Barry said he didn’t know if someone was playing a “very well-designed prank” at the school which dates back to 1828.

He continued: “I’m a sceptic myself but we said we’d throw it up on our Facebook page, simply because we don’t know is this a prank or what?

“It’s a very old building, going back a number of years and it’s got a lot of history.

“People in old buildings are always hearing noises and strange sounds but this is the first time we’ve actually caught something.

“We’d often come across papers strewn about but we were never able to say what it was, we just assumed it was pupils that were doing it.”

He also said that no other motion-activated cameras leading to the corridor had been triggered by the supposed poltergeist.

Many sceptics suggest the footage was conveniently captured ahead of Halloween event at the school on October 29 dubbed Fearpark.
