Girl loses life as fake doctor administers wrong injection

KARACHI: One more girl lost her life following administration of the wrong injection by a fake doctor in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area, ARY News reported on Sunday.

The sorrowful incident took place in the 13-D neighbourhood of the metropolis on Saturday night where a man, Zafar Iqbal took his minor daughter, Saba to a local clinic who was suffering from breathing issues.

The minor girl died just after the administration of the wrong injection by the fake doctor, identified as Dr Adnan, who fled from his clinic but captured during late night raids, police said.

Zafar Iqbal told the journalists that his daughter was administered a wrong injection at the hospital after which her mouth started foaming.

Iqbal said that when her daughter’s condition turned critical, the doctor asked him to take the child to another hospital but in the meantime, his daughter took her last breath.

Police told ARY News that the father of the deceased girl is a rickshaw driver who later took her daughter’s dead body to Jinnah Hospital.

Miseries of the bereaved father were not ended at the hospital where the staff refused to carry on a post-mortem of the unlucky girl.

An on-duty Medico-Legal Officer (MLO) Dr Zakia showed inhumane behaviour by rejecting to conduct a post-mortem of the deceased girl, saying she could not come to the hospital following her leave.

Later, when the news aired by TV channels, the doctor agreed to perform the post-mortem of the child.

On the other hand, a three-month-old child lost his eyesight following reaction of high dose drugs administered by the doctors at a private hospital in Malir’s Kala Board neighbourhood of the metropolis.

The victim’s father told media that his child lost his eye while another eye was affected due to the negligence of physicians who administered high-dose medicine to the infant.

On April 22, after battling for her life for the past eight days, nine-month-old Nishwa had breathed her last at Liaquat National Hospital in Karachi.

The medical case of the minor girl came into light on April 14, when she was reportedly administered a wrong injection by the staff of Darul Sehat Hospital, which resulted in the paralysis of Nishwa.

The paralysed girl was later admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Liaquat National Hospital for treatment, where she died today.

Father of the girl, Qaiser, alleged that her daughter, Nishwa, was paralysed due to a ‘wrong injection’ given to her by the ‘untrained nursing staff’ of Darul Sehat Hospital.

Qaiser said that he brought his twin daughters to the hospital for treatment of diarrhoea. He added her daughters were injected three drips on different timings and the condition of one of his daughters, Nishwa, was worsened.

According to details, due to an overdose of Potassium Chloride, the brain of Nishwa had been severely affected, leaving her nearly brain-dead.
