Google apologizes to Modi over his pictures appearing in top ten criminal list

A user of the social media website Twitter reported that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s image appeared when she searched for top ten criminals.

The statement issued by Google read, “We apologise for any confusion or misunderstanding this has caused”.

The statement also stated that, “These results trouble us and are not reflective of the opinions of Google.”

“Sometimes, the way images are described on the internet can yield surprising results to specific queries”, the statement further read.

It is being said that the pictures were showing up as an England-based publication had published Modi’s picture with the wrong metadata.

However, the image of the Indian Prime Minister will continue to show in the list as the story had gone viral across the world.
