KARACHI: The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board’s (KWSB) governing body meeting on Tuesday abolished the cadre’s condition for the post of managing director in the organization, ARY News reported.
The KWSB governing body meeting was held in Karachi with Sindh Minister for Local Bodies Saeed Ghani in the chair. The meeting unanimously approved to remove the cadre’s condition for the slot of managing director.
As per minutes of the governing body meeting, received by ARY News, now a non-cadre officer, having engineering back ground, could be appointed as MD Karachi Water and Sewerage Board.

Earlier, the World Bank had proposed $400 million aid to the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board for developing water and sewerage services in Karachi on November 9.
However, the Sindh government had approved in standard and determined to go move forward with the arrangement.
This arrangement initiated from a meeting, when World Bank team directed by senior water resources management specialist Andreas Rohde called on Saeed Ghani, Local Government Minister in his office.
