According to details, the DG ISPR, Major General Asim Salim Bajwa in his message on a social website, said that the government requested the Army Chief, General Raheel Sharif for mediating the current political impasse, in yesterday’s one-on-one meeting between the civil and military leadership of the country.
Earlier today, PM Nawaz Sharif on the floor of the National Assembly, had denied any such request made to the military leadership in connection to the current political deadlock.
After the ISPR’s statement, this
has been cleared that the prime minister gave a false statement in the house today, which has now led to a new debate on the Premier Nawaz Sharif’s credibility, under the article 62 and 63 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
Yesterday, ARY News had reported that the Premier Nawaz Sharif requested General Raheel Sharif to play the role of an arbitrator between PTI, PAT and the government, for both the sides lack trust and are not ready to listen to each other.
