Govt authorizes FIA to detain any suspect up to 90 days

Earlier to this, Pakistan Rangers, Frontier Corps and other law enforcement agencies (LEAs) were given the power to detain a suspect for 90 days.

However, now the FIA will also be able to keep any suspect under custody for this much span of time.

Sources told that the federal agency will now be able to keep the suspects of Imran Farooq murder case under its custody for 90 days, however it will be necessary for the officials to produce the suspects before a court prior to detaining them.
