Govt not to commit mistake of arresting Dr. Qadri, says Shah

ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah said government would not commit a mistake of arresting Dr. Tahirul Qadri, ARY News reported Sunday.

Talking to media, the PPP leader said his party would be an ally of every democratic alliance. There is no gain if Article-6 of the Constitution is not linked with Oct 12, 1999 move [of the then government], he added.

He said if Dr. Qadri was arrested, the term of incumbent government would reduce to six months from official five years.

It may be noted here that reports are going rounds that government might order arrest of Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr. Tahirul Qadri along with MNA Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed.

Sources told that the government could possibly arrest Sheikh Rasheed for preventing breach of peace and panic in the state.

It was further learnt that the PAT Chief can be taken into custody as soon as he lands at the Islamabad airport.
