ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi on Wednesday said the government was determined to ensure provision of justice, employment, quality education and healthcare facilities to the people of marginalised areas to bring them at par with other regions of the country.
“Socio-economic development of erstwhile the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) was among top priorities of the government,” he said while talking to a delegation led by MNA Saifur Rehman in Islamabad.
“All possible measures are being taken to mainstream the people of tribal districts,” he said.
Dr Arif Alvi expressed optimism that the country was now on the road to attain the national goal of peace and prosperity.

This should be noted that last month in a statement Prime Minister Imran Khan said the government would play its due role for ensuring provision of share to the erstwhile FATA in the National Finance Commission award.
“Following the merger of the FATA the administrative and other matters should be resolved in such a manner that people should not face any difficulties,” he said.
Imran was told that a number of departments of the Fata Secretariat had been transferred to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
“These departments include education, Zakat, Ushar, social welfare and population welfare; whereas process of shifting other departments is under way,” he was told.
