KARACHI: The Sindh government on Friday reduced the duration of a ban on pillion riding across Sindh by 11 days as the ban will now remain in force from Nov 19 to 22.
According to a new notification issued by the provincial home department, the ban on pillion ridding will be effective from 10th to 13th Rabiul Awwal to avoid any untoward incident on the eve of Eid Miladun Nabi.
The ban has also been imposed on the use of loud speakers, carrying/processing or playing of provocative audio/video cassettes/material provocative speeches and inciting sectarian hatred, and assembly of five or more persons except Chup Tazia Juloos and Rallies/gathering to be held in connection with Eid Miladun Nabi.
Earlier, the ban was imposed for 14 days under under Section 144 of CrPC.
