Govt focused on economic development, elimination of terrorism, says PM

Speaking after inaugurating the two day Pakistan Investment Conference in Islamabad today, the PM said power projects are being established in coal, gas, solar and wind to end the power outages by 2017.

He urged the entrepreneurs and businessmen to take advantage of the business and investor friendly policies of the government.

Mr. Sharif pointed out the government’s policy revolves around the elimination of extremism and terrorism, economic development, ensuring continuous supply of energy and providing better education and healthcare services to the people.

Referring to the potential of China Pakistan Economic Corridor project, the Prime Minister said it is an energy and infrastructure program which will bring investment of $ 46 billion. Twenty five industrial zones around the three routes of the corridor project will provide thousands of job opportunities to the youth.

In addition, we are also working on hydel projects including the fourth extension of Tarbela and Dasu Dam. Projects like Turkemenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India gas pipeline project and CASA 1000 will also bring energy in the system.

Nawaz Sharif said significant progress has been made in controlling extremism and terrorism. Zarb-e-Azb operation has yielded positive results and we will not allow the cancer of terrorism to affect the fabric of our society.
