According to details, the contingent was constituted upon special directives of the Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif, in order to control violent protests often occurring in the country.
The special police force includes both male and female personnel trained to control charged protesters in shortest of time and that too without any loss of lives.
A ceremony was held at Police College Sahala earlier today with respect to the completion of first quarter of the nine months’ training course of the special contingent, which was attended by the Home Minister of Punjab, Colonel (retd) Shujaa Khanzada as the chief guest.
During the ceremony, personnel of the special police force also demonstrated their capabilities and skills.
On this occasion, trainee junior police personnel told that they are educated enough and so they strongly oppose the use of force on protesters.
Sources told that consultation is underway to field the newly-trained contingent against PTI rally in Islamabad on November 30, which would also be the first test of this special force.
However, it is yet to be seen as to how far this force yields results of its special training.
