Govt committed to make Peshawar an advanced city: CM Mehmood

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Wednesday said that all out resources will be utilized to make Peshawar an advanced and developed city.

Presiding over a meeting in Peshawar, CM Mahmood said that the provincial government was committed to transform the provincial capital on modern lines.

He said a comprehensive plan has been evolved for this purpose. The chief minister said seven new heritage trials will be constructed in the city to attract more foreign tourists, Radio Pakistan reported.

He said a practicable traffic management plan has also been constituted for lasting solution of traffic problems of the city.

Earlier on October 3, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had claimed that Lahore will be made a smart city by 2025.

Talking to a delegation led by Chief Executive Officer Huawei Pakistan Saif Chi, who had called him at his office, CM Buzdar had welcomed the technical assistance of Huawei in the establishment of Safe City Authority and hoped that it will also extend cooperation in the digitization of Punjab.

According to a statement issued from his office, the chief minister had said, “Digital monitoring through Safe City Authority has helped in overcoming crimes and this digital monitoring will also be started in major cities of the province in phased manner.”
