Govt releases Rs1.4 bn to counter-terror authority

ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Interior Baligh-ur-Rehman on Tuesday said the government has released an amount of Rs1.4 billion for National Counter Terrorism Authority (Nacta) to effectively counter the challenge of terrorism.

This he stated during the meeting of Senate Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control held under the chairmanship of Senator A Rehman Malik in Islamabad.

The meeting hailed efforts of law enforcement agencies in combating the menace of terrorism.

Senator Rehman Malik said soil of Afghanistan is being used against Pakistan. He stressed the need to follow agreements signed for peace between both the countries.

This should be noted that a wave of terrorism has recently hit Pakistan claiming more than hundred lives.
