Govt to increase budget of PM Youth Program: Dar

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Thursday said that the government will increase the budget of Prime Minister Youth Program to facilitate more youth of the country.

The minister, addressing a ceremony of Prime Minister Interest Free Loan Scheme, said that government has provided opportunities to forty two hundred thousand families through the program.

He said that the government is working to improve Prime Minister Youth Program, which is an initiative to give self reliance to more than 250,000 families. He said that five million rupees have been given as loan and has a ninety-nine percent recovery rates.

Dar said that the foreign reserves of the country have crossed 22 billion dollars which is remarkable. He expressed satisfaction on the growth of revenue generation by sixty percent in three years.

He said that the developmental projects are the focus of the government, and renewed the pledge to overcome the energy shortage by the end of their tenure.

The minister said this program is empowering youth specially women. He disclosed that loan scheme is underway in 44 districts and 427 union councils.
