GTA 6 leaks investigation deepens as Take-Two targets Discord, Microsoft

Take-Two Interactive has filed two DMCA subpoenas seeking information that could identify the person or people behind the “CyberLeek” persona, which has been linked to recent Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay leaks.
The subpoenas, filed in the Southern District of New York on August 20, target Microsoft and Discord and request extensive account and device information. Take-Two is seeking details including names, IP addresses, phone numbers, device identifiers, linked Google and Xbox accounts, and OneDrive data.
The requests cover accounts that communicated in three named Discord servers between June 1, 2026, and the present. Take-Two has also set a September 4 deadline for the requested information.
One of the subpoenas specifically requests Microsoft’s MachineGuid identifier, a Windows-generated value that can remain stable across hardware changes unless the operating system drive is replaced. The filing also seeks certain device telemetry associated with specified tools or file artifacts, although the exhibit does not appear to include a list identifying those artifacts.
The Discord subpoena names the Ødyssey.gg, “! Odyssey,” and DarkViperAU servers. The filing describes Ødyssey.gg as a cheat community and refers to it as the alleged operator’s “home.”
Take-Two’s filings also include a copyright takedown notice sent to GitHub on August 19 concerning the repository zyrexdz/cyberleek-leak-research. The notice reportedly demanded that the repository be completely disabled, describing the material as a clear case of infringement.

The filings have also drawn attention to the DarkViperAU Discord server. Australian content creator Matthew “DarkViperAU” Judge, whose server is described in the documents as an editors’ server, denied knowing anything about the alleged leaks, writing on X: “I don’t know anything.”
Discord ID timestamps cited in the filings indicate that the CyberLeek account was created in January 2019, while the DarkViperAU server dates back to January 2017. The Ødyssey.gg server, meanwhile, appears to have been created on June 19, 2026—18 days after Take-Two’s June 1 records window began.
The developments come as additional GTA 6 footage continues to surface. A sixth gameplay video reportedly appeared on August 21, just days before Netflix is scheduled to premiere Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look.
Take-Two’s latest legal action suggests the company is escalating its efforts to determine who is behind the CyberLeek leaks and how the unreleased game footage was obtained and distributed.
