Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow revealed the reason for her split from ex-fiance Brad Pitt as she remembers the dreamy proposal from the latter.
In her recent appearance at the comedy podcast ‘Call Her Daddy’ with presenter Alexandra Cooper, the ‘Iron Man’ star got candid about her past relationships with fellow actors Ben Affleck and Brad Pitt.

Gushing about her romance with Pitt, the actor said it was a ‘love at first sight’.
“One night we were on the balcony of this house we were renting in this little town in Argentina,” she detailed the dreamy proposal from Pitt during the outing.
“I wish I remembered exactly what he said, but he proposed, it was fantastic, I was thrilled. We had talked about it, but I was surprised in the moment, I remember that,” Paltrow shared. “I must have been 24.”
For the uninitiated, Pitt and Paltrow began dating in 1994 after they met on the set of the film ‘Se7en’ and got engaged in 1996 only to call it quits a few months later.
Paltrow blamed her immaturity for walking out of that relationship. “When I look back I really was a kid, really more than most 22, 24 years old I meet now. I really had not explored who I was, what was important to me, what my boundaries were,” she said.
“It was the right thing at that time, but it was really hard,” Paltrow added.
“There were a number of things that had happened, he was nine years older than me so he was far more … he knew what he wanted, he was ready to do it and I was kind of all over the place, so it was really one of those difficult things, where I felt like, ‘Oh my God, not only am I not ready, I’m not living up to the standards again.’ It was a familiar refrain I felt about myself.”

“He’s a great guy. He’s wonderful, I really like him a lot,” she said of Pitt.
It is pertinent to mention, Gwyneth Paltrow married writer-director Brad Falchuk in 2018 after ending her 13-year-long marriage with singer Chris Martin, with whom she shares two kids. Brad Pitt on the other hand is currently dating a 29 year younger jewelry designer, Ines de Ramon. He has six kids with his former wife Angelina Jolie.
The former couple Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt shares an amicable relationship till date.
