ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s Adviser on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh will chair the meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet in Islamabad on Friday (today), ARY News reported.
An 18-point agenda expected to be discussed during the ECC session.
The issue of hike in prices of petroleum products would be one of the key points of the agenda. The ECC will decide the extent of hike in petroleum prices.
A comprehensive restoration plan for Pakistan Steel Mills and a summery for appointment of an advisory consortium for the mill would be tabled in the meeting for consideration, sources said.
Supplementary
grant for Punjab Rangers, additional funds for interior ministry, supplementary grant for explosives department, supplementary grant for National Savings Organizations and other matters would be on agenda for consideration in the meeting.
Prime Minister Imran Khan on April 16, had reconstituted the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) and appointed his Advisor on Finance and Revenue Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh as its new chairman.
Cabinet Secretariat had issued a series of notifications about the new composition of the ECC. According to the notifications, Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh had also appointed head of the Cabinet Committee on Energy (CCoE) and the Cabinet Committee on Privatisation (CCoP).
