Hanif Abbasi calls for probe into Gulalai’s allegations against Imran

ISLAMABAD: Admiring courage of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) legislator Aisha Gulalai, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Hanif Abbasi said he has been speaking about Imran’s immoral character for last one and half year, ARY News reported.

Talking to reporters outside Supreme Court of Pakistan, Abbasi said he salutes Gulalai for her bravery and speaking truth about Imran.

Calling upon PTI chairman Imran Khan to respond to the ‘shameful’ allegations levelled by Gulalai, Abbasi said Imran should be ashamed of serious allegations against him. “However, it’s another matter that he would not feel so being party of society where such matters are deemed less important,” he added.

Raising his concern, he urged authorities concerned to take the allegations seriously and probe into the matter. “If allegations are not investigated, it will undermine the public confidence in law,” he remarked.

He said truth should be revealed and a suo motu notice should be taken with regard to stern allegations which he termed sheer violation of the society’s ethics and moral norms.

“I was among the few who asked the masses not to allow their mothers and daughters to attend PTI rallies in 2013 and to protect them from this person,” Abbasi said.

He said Imran should be ashamed for asking Gulalai for evidences and calling her not a Pakthun. “The device through which the messages were sent should be investigated and all messages should be made public,” he urged.

On Tuesday, Ayesha Gulalai Wazir, the MNA who announced to leave Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), in a press conference accused the party chief Imran Khan and his cronies of sending indecent text messages to female members.

Gulalai categorically rejected the PTI claim that she demanded party ticket to contest elections from NA-1, and said that there are several other reasons which led to the decision to leave PTI, one of which was indecent messages from Imran Khan and his cronies.
