Police nail terror suspect involved in multiple murders

KARACHI: Sindh police claimed to have arrested a hardcore criminal, said to be associated with militant wing of a political party, in an overnight raid on Sunday night, ARY News reported.

According to details, Shahrah-e-Faisal police nabbed Waheed alias Malako from its jurisdiction.

The police said that the suspect belonged to a political party’s militant wing and was involved in the killing of more than six people. He was also suspected to be involved in 12 May riots in Karachi, they added.

Police sources claimed that the arrested accused collects Rs1.5 to 2 million extortion money every month from the metropolis.

Over 45 people had lost their lives and dozens others injured in riots on May 12, 2007 when the then deposed Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry landed at Karachi airport to address a gathering of legal fraternity at Sindh High Court.
