The opposition parties in the parliament have decided to observe a day of mourning on coming Friday over the deaths caused by heatwave in Karachi and other cities of Sindh.
A meeting of the parliamentary opposition chaired by the Leader of Opposition Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah discussed the death of around 490 people in the deadly heatwave in Karachi and other cities of Sindh province.
The meeting decided to observe a day of mourning on coming Friday over the scorching weather deaths.
The meeting also decided to offer the funeral prayers in absentia for the victims of the searing heatwave.
The opposition has also decided to stage walkout from the parliament to protest against the government’s lack of action over the heatwave deaths.
Syed Khursheed Shah talking to media after the opposition meeting said that the power loadshedding during the searing weather was resulted in huge losses of life in the devastating heatwave in Karachi and other cities of Sindh. He held the federal government responsible for these deaths.
