Huge cache of arms and ammunition recovered in Karachi

KARACHI: A large cache of arms and ammunition were recovered on Wednesday from a house in Pak Colony area of Old Golimar, ARY News reported.

Police sources said that the weapons and ammunition belong to members of the Lyari gang war. This includes several Light Machines Guns (LMGs), Kalashnikov, M-16 rifles, rocket launchers, IEDs and around fifty thousand bullets.

SSP West said that the weapons were recovered from a secret room concealed behind a wall.

The raid was conducted on a tip-off and is said to have been brought to Karachi before the ongoing operation. He said that the weapons probably belonged to members of the Lyari gang war.

This is considered to be the largest haul of weapons recovered ever since a raid by law-enforcement agencies in Azizabad.
