Husband tortures to newly-wed wife to death in Karachi

KARACHI: A young newly-wed girl has been tortured to death allegedly by her husband in Karachi, ARY News reported.

“You marry someone’s daughter, then you become a tyrant over her,” after receiving dead body, father of the victim, Hira, said in anger as tears rolled down his face.

Husband of the girl has reportedly confessed to killing her. The 18-year-old girl, resident of North Karachi, got married to Manzoor eight months back. Manzoor used to torture her which caused her death.

“I am doomed….

She was the dearest one to me… I got her married for her solace. Neither I took a single penny, nor (demanded) any other thing while marrying her off,” the father under influence of emotions articulated.

The father said he was told that Manzoor was an educated gentleman. He thought that was the right person for his daughter, he added.

SP Gulberg said the arrested suspect has confessed the he had murdered his wife. He said post-mortem report was awaited to expand circle of investigation.
