ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday granted five-day protective bail to Tariq Mansha, the son of suspected land grabber Mansha Bomb who has been booked in more than 70 cases of land grabbing in Lahore’s Johar Town.
A bench head by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani approved the bail for Tariq Mansha. It directed the applicant to surrender before the relevant court before Oct 24.
Tariq along with his father and brothers are facing charges of encroachments and attacking a Lahore Development Authority (LDA) team during an anti-encroachment operation in Lahore’s Johar Town.
Malik Mansha Khokhar alias Mansha Bomb was arrested from the Supreme Court premises after he surfaced there to seek protective bail earlier this week.
He reportedly surrendered himself to the top court and waited for hours in the courtroom before he was taken into custody by the Secretariat police on Monday evening.
Mansha wanted to meet Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, however the latter was stated to be busy in a meeting. The suspect was transferred to the Secretariat Police Station.
