PESHAWAR: Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Mustafa Kamal on Tuesday said that Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain collaborated with the Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) for 22 years.
“In 2012, I came to know about MQM chief’s links with RAW. In 2010, Imran Farooq was murdered and Scotland Yard took a number of documents from Imran Farooq’s house and translated them. In 2012, Altaf Hussain and Tariq Mir were interviewed and they confessed, after seeing proofs, that they worked with the Indian agency, ” Mustafa Kamal told reporters in Peshawar.
Earlier on his arrival, Kamal had said he was unsure why MQM leader Saleem Shahzad had returned to the country, but maintained that there was no place for him in the PSP.
“There is no place now (in our party) for Saleem Shahzad. It is too great a burden to take him at the moment, and will sink our entire ship,” he said.
Saleem Shahzad arrived in Karachi on Monday and was arrested by security official at the airport after several cases were lodged against him. He was sent to prison on Tuesday and was ordered to a present of Feb 18 while a bail hearing was set for Feb 11.
Mustafa Kamal, who himself was a part of MQM in the past, returned to the country last year and formed his own party after heavily criticising MQM supremo Altaf Hussain in a press conference.
