ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has condemned the Peshawar terror attack on early Friday which claimed at least nine lives and injured as many as 35 people.
Taking to twitter, Khan expressed condolences with the victims and families lost their love ones in a terrorist attack at Peshawar Agriculture Training Institute.
“Saddened by condemnable terrorist attack in Peshawar this morning,” he tweeted on his official account after Pakistan Army announced concluding the operation against terrorists stormed the varsity on Eid Milad-un-Nabi occasion.
Lauding the efforts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police and Pakistan Army, Khan said his prayers were with the victims and their families.
“Commend the rapid response of KP police and [the] army that helped in containing damage and concluding the operation,” he said.
Khan said the reformed professional KP police force with its special rapid response unit has made a difference in dealing with acts of terrorism in a timely, holistic and coordinated manner.
Earlier today, four ‘burqa-clad’ terrorists stormed the Peshawar Agricultural Training Institute under the cover of fire this morning, killing at least nine persons including a student and injuring 35 others.
All the attackers were killed by security forces in an hour-long operation.
Of those nine dead, six bodies were brought to Hayatabad Medical Complex, while three were taken to Khyber Teaching Hospital, confirmed sources.
