Imran Khan to become PM in first round of voting in NA

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesman Fawad Chaudhry on Thursday said that his party chief Imran Khan will be elected prime minister in the first round of voting in National Assembly, ARY News reported.

Addressing media in Islamabad, the PTI spokesman said the chances of PM election going into second round are thin as PTI enjoys support of majority of MNAs in the houseto elect their party chief as prime minister.

He maintained that the interim government has sent a summary to president house for August 13 National Assembly session which will take Imran Khan’s oath after the Independence Day.

It is pertinent to note here that Fawad Chaudhry tweeted earlier in the day that after days of negotiations with small parties and independents, PTI has won the ‘number game’ acquiring 180 seats against required 172 to form government at the Center.

He added that PTI has support of 180 MNA-elects in the National Assembly after Balochistan Awami Party (Mengal) lent its support to the Tehreek-e-Insaf.
