PTI to attend parliament’s joint session tomorrow: sources

Sources told that Imran Khan will also attend parliament’s special session.

The decision to this effect was taken at PTI’s core committee meeting, presided over by party chief Imran Khan today.

The core committee discussed Yemen situation and party’s stance on the matter.

Sources told that PTI, however, did not decide whether to join assemblies but it will take part in the special session called by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Yemen conflict.

During the meeting, majority of the PTI leaders called for participation in the NA session due tomorrow.

PM Sharif had asked President Mamoon Hussain to convene a joint session of the Parliament on April 6 to discuss the Yemen situation.

Islamabad, a close and longstanding ally of Saudi Arabia, has so far resisted Riyadh’s demand for it to join the group of Arab nations trying to prevent Shiite Huthi rebels from taking over in Yemen.

Pakistan also borders Iran, the main Shiite power, which has strongly criticised the Saudi-led strikes onYemen.
