PTI statement cited Mr Khan as saying that Justice (retd) Wajiuddin has openly defied party discipline even after the issuance of the Chairman’s notification on August 4 clearly stating that anyone discussing internal party matters publicly will be suspended immediately from Party membership.
The chairman pointed out that he held a 3-hour meeting with him last weekend because he has always had the highest respect for Justice (retd) Wajiuddin.
The PTI chief made clear that no democratic political party allows its members to discuss internal party matters in the public domain, especially on the media. A democratic culture within a political party should not be mistaken for freewheeling anarchy. “Even in Western democracies, no political party allows its members to go public with internal issues and hurl baseless allegations against its leadership.”
Justice Wajih reacts after party membership suspension
The Chairman regretted that Justice (retd) Wajiuddin’s maligning of senior Party leaders on baseless allegations has damaged the Party more than the combined forces of the Opposition ever could.
In view of the above facts, and in the light of the 4th August notification, the Chairman has been left with no choice but to suspend Justice Wajiuddin’s basic Party membership.
When asked about his suspension at ARY News programme hosted by Arshad Sharif, Justice (r) Wajihuddin said he had not yet received any notice from the party and he was getting all the information through media.
In response to another question about the party chairman he said, “aapse (Imran) muhabbat to hosakti hai, lekin ye zaruri nahin ke apke kutton se bhi ho.” (I can love you, but it’s not necessary that I love your dogs too.)
