Banerjee, who was famous for the popular Indian TV show Balika Vadhu, shocked friends, relatives and most members of the Indian film industry when she allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself to her death.
As per details, Bannerjee was found by her boyfriend hanging from the ceiling fan in her Mumbai house when he came to meet her. “When I entered the bedroom, I found Pratyusha hanging from the ceiling. I got very scared. Immediately, I called the neighbours and with their help, I took her to Kokilaben Hospital. We assumed that she was alive, but she was not. I got so
scared that I did not inform the police. It was the hospital authorities who informed them. After the doctor’s declaration, I called up Pratyusha’s family members and few of our close friends,” said Rahul Raj Singh, her boyfriend.
Police have so far detained her boyfriend for further interrogation. Initial reports point towards a turmoil in her personal life which would have prompted the actress to take her life.
Since the actress did not leave behind any suicide note, the exact cause of her death could not be ascertained. However, her postmortem report is likely to be released on Saturday afternoon.
