Indian cricketer Shami trolled for his wife’s outfit

MUMBAI: Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami posted pictures of with his family on Facebook, but little did he know the snaps would galvanize social media trollers into action.

In the pictures, Shami is seen posing with his daughter and wife, who is wearing a wine red sleeveless gown.

Minutes after the picture was posted, people (mostly the Indians) started demeaning him saying that he should know that he is a Muslim and that this kind of dressing is inappropriate.

Some even asked the fast bowler to make her wife wear a veil and questioned him about the basics of ‘religious ethics’. People asked him if he doesn’t feel ashamed of the fact that his wife is wearing a deep necked outfit and that he doesn’t know how a woman should present herself.

Noticing the ‘unjust’ criticism on the cricketer, some other notable figures of the Indian film industry also jumped in to rescue Shami from troller.

Majority of these comments were posted by the Indians.

Farhan Akhtar, Javed Akhtar and cricketer Mohammad Kaif decided to show their support towards Shami. They took to their Twitter handles and tweeted:
