Iranian FM condemns Ormara incident ahead of PM Imran’s ‘historic’ Iran visit

TEHRAN: Iranian Foreign Minister Muhammad Javad Zarif has condemned the Ormara incident.

“Strongly condemning the recent terrorist attack in Pakistan, just as PM @ImranKhanPTI embarks on his first, historic visit to Iran,” he said on his official Twitter handle.

“Terrorists, extremists & their sponsors are terrified by close relations between Muslim states. Iran stands with the people & govt. of Pakistan.”

At least 14 passengers were shot dead by unidentified assailants who offloaded them from buses on the Makran Coastal Highway in Balochistan’s Ormara area on Thursday morning.

Around five or six buses travelling between Karachi and Gwadar were stopped by 15-20 unidentified armed assailants in camouflage uniforms according to levies sources. The assailants stopped the buses and checked the identity cards of passengers and offloaded 16 of them.
