He belongs to the most illustrious celebrity family in India and has established himself as one of the most bankable actors in the Indian film industry. Just 32 years old, Ranbir Kapoor has delivered hits such as Barfi, Rockstar and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Ranbir Kapoor is romantically involved with one of the hottest actresses today in Bollywood, Katrina Kaif. With all good things coming his way, I’ sure all of us are convinced that everything is hunky dory for the young actor, right?
Wrong! Ever since Ranbir gave us Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewaani, he has failed to provide us with a single hit film. His last three films at the box office have bombed pathetically. Besharam, Roy and Bombay Velvet failed to rake in huge collections and were criticized for their lack of depth (as far as content was concerned). Roy and Bombay Velvet featured an ensemble cast with Ranbir Kapoor starring A-list actors Arjun Rampal, Jacqueline Fernandez, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar.
It seems that the young Kapoor lad has lost his sense of scouting films which are backed up by a solid script. However, not all has been lost for Ranbir, who received valuable advice and encouragement from none other than senior actor Shah Rukh Khan. Stating that Ranbir was a brilliant actor, this is how SRK advised Ranbir:-
“I don’t know if I have advice. As a friend I have chats with him. I met them both actually, had talks with them and yes, all of us are from the film industry. He would know better. He comes from a family which started films in this country. I think that family would know much better, than any of us who can give advice to him. So no advice; the only thing that you need to realise that, if you believe that you have a great talent that Ranbir Kapoor has, nothing can stop him; neither four films nor 40 films. He is a fantastic actor. He is a brilliant actor. ”
Ranbir is no fluke, mind you. He has given us hit films in the past and can do it again. The actor only needs to find his feet back again and choose scripts that mesh in with his performances on-screen. Good luck Ranbir, something tells us he needs it!
