The JI head said no one should be entitled to indulge in vigilante justice. He said such practices should be avoided.
He also visited the residence of slain Christian couple in Kot Radha Krishan and condoled their deaths to the heirs.
The incident had taken place in a village in Punjab province on November 4 when a local cleric told his community through the loudspeakers of his mosque to punish the couple for alleged desecration of the Holy Quran.
A mob then gathered outside the house of Shehzad Masih, 32, and his wife Shama, in her 20s, dragged them out and beat them to death.
Their bodies were then set on fire in a brick kiln where they worked.
