Speculations over foreign performer at the opening ceremony of the Pakistan Super League (PSL)’s second edition have been put to rest, after world-famous Jamaican raggae singer Shaggy was roped in by the Pakistan Cricket Board to rock the stage.
Shaggy will perform alongside Pakistan’s singing icons Ali Zafar and Shahzad Roy at the star-studded Dubai event on February 9 at Dubai International Stadium.
Shaggy also posted a video urging his Pakistani fans to make it to the event. “I will be performing in Dubai at the HBL PSL opening ceremony. I request you all to come and sing some of your favourite Shaggy numbers with me.”
The PCB says the ceremony will include a fireworks display and a top-act by the Flying Drummers.
In the last PSL opening ceremony, Ali Zafar and renowned global musician Sean Paul amused the audience with their amazing performance.
What captured the attention was Maverick West Indian batsman Chris Gayle dancing down the stage performing his own energetic version on tunes of Paul.
Gayle had attracted limelight for his first Gangnam-style celebration came in the match against Ireland in the world T20 of 2012 played in Sri Lanka.
