Nueplex cinemas in Karachi was the place to be, where the who’s who of Pakistani showbiz industry was gathered to witness the premiere of Jawani Phir Nahi Ani. The movie was always a winner; owing to an ensemble cast attached to the project, plenty of hunks in the form of Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humayun Saeed and Vasay Chaudhry whereas the ladies did not disappoint when it came to shaking a leg, with Mehwish Hayat and Suhai Ali Abro rising up to the expectations.
All in all, the movie was a perfect mix of everything; entertainment in its truest form meshed with comedy and dance. The dialogues were on-point and hilarious, whilst the songs were racy and the perfect tune for party-goers. Mika Singh’s Khul Jaye Botal, Jalwa and the soundtrack had everyone enthralled.
JPNA revolves around three friends, fed up of their miserly married lives and grouchy wives. The very serious Ayesha Khan and rifle-bearing Pashtun Sarwat Gilani totally blew the audience’s mind away. In a desperate bid to spice up their love lives a little, the trio of Vasay Chaudhry, Ahmad Butt and Hamza Ali Abbasi head over to Bangkok to live it up, on the behest of their friend Shaharyar, played by Hymayun Saeed. Affairs, bikini-clad models and clubs are what the men experience in Bangkok, which makes their wives suspicious.
The plot takes a turn for the worse when Humayun has a fling with Mehwish Hayat’s character, who so happens to be the daughter of a don. He ends up falling for Suhai Ali Abro’s character as well, which further adds chaos. The ending of the movie is a well executed climax, which is bound to please you to no end. Ahmad Butt’s comedy was appreciated much by the attendees, who were also in hysterics when Sarwat Gilani uttered the Shah Rukh Khan dialogue. Suhai Ali Abro’s dance moves were something to marvel at, since she looked so effortlessly comfortable on her feet.
For those who aspire to watch their favourite local artists put in a great effort, this movie is a must watch. Plenty of stars share screen-space and an ample amount of songs to keep you grooving, JPNA is one flick you most certainly don’t want to miss out on!
