JI to stage sit-ins at governor houses, power companies offices: Hafiz Naeem

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has decided to stage sit-ins outside four Governor Houses and in front of the power companies’ offices, JI Karachi chief Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said on Monday.

“We will protest on roads, in front of K-Electric head office and the offices of the HESCO and FESCO,” JI leader said while talking to media here.

“They are white collar criminals who are issuing threats in press conferences,” he said.

The independent power producers remain part of government led by any party, he said. “Earlier, the People’s Party and later the PML-N signed these agreements,” Hafiz Naeem said. “You consume electricity or not but bound to pay money to the IPPs, which include big fish,” he said.

JI leader vowed to guide the movement ahead seeking for cancellation of the K-Electric licence.

“Mr Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif and Mr. Kakar, tell us what type of economic institution the IMF is,” he questioned. “The ruling class has chained the country in loans for 76 years,” JI Karachi chief said. “They bargain on our sovereignty and praise IMF on media to misguide the people,” he said.

Hafiz Naeem asked Sindh’s caretaker home minister to launch an immediate action and a targeted operation in katcha and pakka areas of the province.

JI leader said Bilawal Bhutto’s plane has crashed, ” He won’t be a prime minister forever. Now the People’s Party has been on the verge of saying goodbye to Sindh,” Hafiz Naeem said.
