#JoMeinChahoon: Shining trail of ARY’s success

A success is achieved with grit, not by fortune alone. Hard-slogging endeavours, determination and visionary approach are all that it takes to accomplish your dreams.

The inception of Pakistan’s largest TV network ARY has the same uphill journey behind its inspiring success.

There is always a goal behind a mission, and that is pioneered by an individual determination and it surprisingly has a synonymous connection to current viral hashtag #JoMeinChahoon. People from all walks of life are making use of this hashtag to share their inspirational stories. And for the famous brand like ARY, the story of its success has a years-long journey to recount.

Since its inception in December 2000, ARY Digital has come a long way in fulfilling the entertainment requirements of South Asian people. Owing to its stellar content, ARY Network has elevated its status and established itself as the prime choice of entertainment-craving viewers. The channel broadcasts in several countries with millions of viewers across the globe.

How did the journey begin?

Founder of ARY Group Haji Abdul Razzak Yaqoob (late) played an important role to boost the country’s economy by leading a key business group in the country.

He founded the ARY Group in 1972 and with his hard work and struggle made it a top business group on the national and international level.

Haji Abdul Razzaq was also a philanthropist and remained head of the World Memon Organization (WMO). The WMO is a charity organisation that runs schools and hospitals for the poor, gives scholarships to deserving students and also provides financial support to underprivileged people around the world in addition to building mosques.

ARY Group headed by Haji Abdul Razzaq played a pivotal role in the promotion of business activities in Pakistan. The Group also played a key role in the promotion of media industry in the country.

Haji Abdul Razzaq won several national and international honors for his performance in the media industry and other sectors.

Carrying the mission forward

To continue the legacy and foundation laid by (late) Haji Abdul RazzaqYaqoob, Mr. Salman Iqbal, the CEO of the ARY Digital Network, is successfully carrying the mission forward to promote independent media in the country alongside his resolve to work for the betterment of the society.

These initiatives are driven by his visionary thinking and can be defined under the hashtag #JoMeinChahoon.

Mr. Iqbal does not only enjoy a huge respect back home but also beyond Pakistan and this can be gauged from the fact that recently he was named among the top 500 most influential Muslims in the world.

The Muslim 500 is a yearly publication, first published in 2009, which ranks the most influential Muslims internationally.

The publication is compiled by the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre in Amman, Jordan.

Mr Iqbal was placed among the most notable Muslim figures of the world in recognition of his extraordinary achievements.

Staying on top

ARY News and all flagship TV channels of the network are widely popular among the viewers with millions of viewership to its credit.

The social media pages of the ARY has an aggregated following of over 15 million subscribers – the highest in the Pakistan and more than many South Asian TV channels likewise.

From the era when social media was virtually non-existent, and to date when rapid digitization is diminishing conventional media practices, the ARY group transformed itself with the pace of technological evolution and is still keeping it to the top.
