Judicial Complex chaos: IHC issues notice to Imran Khan

TOP NEWS

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday issued notice to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on a petition seeking contempt of court proceedings against the former premier for ‘violence’ at Judicial Complex Islamabad, ARY News reported.

IHC Justice Aamer Farooq heard the petition filed by the Islamabad administration.

The petitioner maintained that Imran Khan had violated IHC order for creating a law and order problem during his appearance at Judicial Complex. The petitioner argued that contempt of court proceedings should start against PTI chief as he didn’t comply with the March 17 order of the IHC.

After hearing the arguments, IHC chief justice issued notice to Imran Khan and adjourned the hearing until April 7.

The Judicial Complex of Islamabad on Saturday turned into a battlefield during the appearance of the PTI Chairman before court in Toshakhana case.

The federal police claimed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers set police vehicles on fire as law enforcers clashed with party workers during former premier Imran Khan’s appearance in Toshakhana case at Islamabad’s Judicial Complex.

Islamabad police also claimed that the PTI workers and supporters attacked the police with petrol bombs and tear gas was also fired at police.
